Théo Braun is a New York-based cinematographer & director born and raised in the suburbs of São Paulo, Brazil. He graduated from Tisch School of the Arts in 2025 with a BFA in Film and Television.
Having lived in Brazil, Germany, and the U.S., Théo is most interested in exploring narrative stories that speak to specific cultural perspectives. He hopes to bring his lived experiences to every collaboration he takes on, with the openness and eagerness to learn from people of all walks of life.
Théo’s work ranges from documenting the Coronavirus crisis in one of São Paulo’s biggest favelas to run-and-gunning music videos and shorts in the streets of New York City. He lights and frames his subjects in the hopes that no one forgets their faces.
Théo is currently in post-production for his Thesis Film, Close, which he shot with the help of talented filmmakers from NYC and São Paulo in his childhood house near Jundiaí, Brazil.
